001 Product – Money Clip (Hong Kong Traditional Bing Sutt’s Floor Pattern)

The design inspiration for the money clip came from the traditional Hong Kong Bing Sutt floor pattern. On the left-hand side, the colours are trying to collaborate with the Bauhaus colours. These money clips can hold cash and credit cards.

002 Product – Pawnshop Signage Bookmark Design

The drawing of Hong Kong Pawnshop

The storytelling of bookmark design
The Hong Kong Pawnshop’s signage inspired the bookmark design. The form of signage is a bat holding a gold coin, the symbol for Hong Kong Pawnshop. The bat signifies fortune and the coin signifies wealth. A pawnshop is a shop that lends money to customers who bring valuable items to leave with the pawnbroker. Customers can return their valuable items when they pay the loan and interest.
The Hong Kong Pawnshop has existed for almost 200 years since 1822. They are getting less because proper banks provide better service for people. The bookmark design is trying to bring back this Hong Kong culture to the products. The inspiration came from the signage of the pawnshop.
The bookmark helps people quickly access the stopping page. It is quite like how people loan valuable items and get them back when they have money from a pawnshop. Also, the Chinese calligraphy on the bookmark shows the meaning of clipping each page instead of the pawnshop’s name.
I hope this product can bring back the limited Hong Kong Pawnshop and neon signage, which are products of Hong Kong’s specific craftsmanship.
003 Product – The Hong Kong Lion Rock Lighting

Lion Rock is a 495-metre-high mountain in Hong Kong, located in Sha Tin District, between Kowloon Tong of Kowloon and Tai Wai of the New Territories.
The rock represents Hong Kong’s spirit, meaning ‘Never Give Up’. It is because, in the 60s and 70s, people who lived under Lion Rock had the lowest level of working labour. However, they used their hard work and innovative thinking to change their lifestyle and become upper-class citizens. The rock encourages the people of Hong Kong to work hard and never give up.
I created this Lion Rock lighting to light up and continue Hong Kong Lion Rock’s spirit. I designed the lighting shape, which is like sculpting the Lion Rock shape on the light bulb. The lighting shape is like combining the sculpture and a light bulb.
It is easy to rest on the LED light holder for lighting.
